Engineering Technology:CAD

Before anything is constructed, manufactured or built, it's drafted with CAD! Drafters create the computer aided drafting (CAD) drawings for everything around us.

Program Mission Statement

The mission of the Engineering/CAD Program is to prepare students for entry level and career advancement in the Computer Aided Drafting and Design and/or for the pursuit of an advanced degree by educating them in the fundamental concepts of professionalism, communication, problem solving, teamwork, and hands-on training for a successful career in Computer Aided Drafting and Design.

Career Opportunities

  • Architecture
  • Building Information Modeling
  • Civil
  • Construction
  • Electrical/Electronic
  • HVAC
  • Manufacturing
  • Mechanical
  • MEP (Mechanical Electrical Plumbing)
  • Piping

We offer an associate degree grouped into the three basic disciplines: Arch, Civil and Mechanical. If you’re interested in training that’ll allow you to obtain an entry-level job as quickly as possible, an associate degree will give you the qualifications you need for higher-level positions. We also offer certificates in each of the basic and specialized fields for focused training. This is a great option if you already have a degree in another area.

You’ll develop the knowledge and techniques used in the creation of technical work skills, an understanding of applied mathematics and physics, and learn to use technology to solve typical engineering-related problems. CAD and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) are now becoming important tools in the engineering community integrated spatial information world.
