I am considering returning to school. Can I get help with this decision?

Returning to school, depending on the day, can seem exciting and overwhelming at the same time. Allow us to help you sort through the processes of returning to school. We can discuss the “life stuff” you have going on that will impact your ability to return and be successful in your classes. If you would like to talk with an advisor, please call the Student Success Center (SSC) at (970) 339-6251 to make an appointment.

What kind of career assessments do you offer?

We have a variety of career exploration resources in our "toolbox." Career assessments are not the gospel truth, but they do generate information and ideas that be useful pieces in the career decision-making process.

Can I get help choosing a major? I have a major selected, but I am not sure which careers it can lead to.

Absolutely. As you invest in your education, it is imperative that you know why you are attending college. Your success in college is directly related to your level of self-motivation, interest in the coursework and knowledge as to how your educational path now relates to your future career goals.

When I graduate, is placement help available?

You can access our online job board Career Advance to see which positions have been posted for Aims students and alumni. Career Advance

Need Assistance? Aims Community College has also partnered with Weld County Employment Services to access its database matching service. You can register online at http://coloradojobs.cdle.org or you can register in person at 1313 B North 11th Ave, Greeley. Individual resume reviews or mock interviews are available by appointment only by calling the SSC at (970) 339-6251.

Ultimately, the job-search process is your responsibility. However, we provide job search skill appointments and workshops. The Job Search Resources tab of our website also has links to more job search sites.

Do you offer job search assistance?

There are many different strategies to a successful job search. This can include selected website use, identifying employer targets, networking, registering with a selected temp agency and checking job postings sent to Aims. Check out the Job Search Resources page for more information.

Where can I receive help with my resume, cover letter or interviewing skills?

All sorts of job search related resources are in print and on the Internet. Whether you are starting from square one or just need to update or tweak, we can help you with your cover letter, resume or interviewing skills. We have informational sites linked from our website via the Job Search Skills page. Individual resume reviews or mock interviews are available by appointment only by calling the Student Success Center at (970) 339-6251.
